For NEET you need NCERT plus three supplements, not a library. NCERT Class 11 and 12 for all three subjects is the core and is non-negotiable. Add one Physics problem book, one Organic Chemistry mechanism book, and one Biology question bank. Everything beyond that is duplication. The most common NEET book mistake is buying JEE-level material, which is pitched above what NEET asks and wastes months.

- NCERT Biology is the book. Read it three times, including diagrams, tables and small print. No supplement substitutes for this.
- Do not buy JEE books for NEET. H.C. Verma, Irodov, J.D. Lee and similar are excellent and largely above NEET's level. Irodov in particular is a months-long detour.
- Inorganic Chemistry needs nothing beyond NCERT. This is the clearest "save your money" in NEET preparation.
- One book per purpose, finished, beats four sampled. Depth is what NEET rewards.
What to skip #
Irodov and JEE Advanced-level Physics — far above NEET difficulty. J.D. Lee, P. Bahadur at full depth — built for JEE; NCERT Inorganic suffices. Multiple Biology reference books — NCERT plus one question bank is complete. "Complete NEET in 30 days" compilations — unsorted question dumps with no difficulty grading.
