The genuine gap is doubt resolution on hard problems. In NEET you can usually resolve a doubt by rereading NCERT; in JEE a single unresolved conceptual gap can block an entire chapter.
- Solve daily from day one. Reading theory without problems produces confidence that evaporates in the exam hall.
- Use NTA's official mock portal — free, and the only accurate interface practice available.
- Keep an error notebook per subject. For self-preparers it substitutes for a teacher noticing your patterns.
- Both sessions count, best score taken. Treat Session 1 as a real rehearsal.
- Be honest about Advanced. If IITs are the target and you have no doubt-resolution route, coaching is a reasonable purchase.
Step 1: Fix the syllabus order, then stick to it #
Mechanics before rotation, GOC before organic reactions, calculus before its applications. Order matters more in JEE than in NEET.
Step 2: Problems daily, all three subjects #
Interleaved, not blocked. Twenty problems a day beats a weekend marathon.
Step 3: Buy the test series early #
The percentile benchmark is the product. Buying it in the last month wastes it.
Step 4: Build a doubt route before you need one #
