Take 15 to 20 full-length CLAT mocks, and spend as long reviewing each as attempting it. That ratio is the whole strategy. Free mocks are worth collecting, but the thing you actually need is a proctored series with All-India ranking (₹2,000–5,000), because CLAT's compressed score distribution means your rank moves far more than your score does. Candidates who sit fewer than eight mocks consistently underperform.
Mocks are not practice for CLAT. They are CLAT preparation from about the two-thirds mark onward.

The review method that matters #
Step 1: Classify every wrong answer into one of four buckets #
Concept gap, misread, time pressure, or careless. Only the first sends you back to study material — and it is usually the smallest bucket.
Step 2: Log your time per section #
CLAT is a time exam. If English is eating 40 minutes, no amount of English study fixes your score; pacing does.
Step 3: Re-attempt the questions you got wrong, a week later #
Untimed. If you get them right now, it was time pressure. If not, it was a concept gap. This single test tells you which problem you actually have.
Step 4: Track accuracy separately from score #
Score rises with attempts; accuracy tells you whether the attempts were earned. With negative marking, falling accuracy on a rising score is a warning.
- Sit mocks at the exam's actual time of day. CLAT is a Sunday afternoon paper; your 11 p.m. accuracy is irrelevant.
- Do not change strategy after one bad mock. Three mocks make a trend; one makes noise.
- Free mocks rarely give a real percentile. Collect them for practice, buy one series for the benchmark.
- A dropping score in the middle of mock season is normal — you are attempting more. Watch accuracy.
